Framing the landscape

Sedella House, 2004

/

The proposal was to turn the roof into a space integrated with the landscape, an additional room, a lookout point. A gathering place under a pergola made from locally sourced wood, commonly used for fences in the area. The house connects the kitchen, living room, and the owner’s atelier into a single, fluid space. The living room’s sliding door acts as a large frame that captures the mountains and the sea. The overhang is supported by tension cables, avoiding pillars that would obstruct the views. A floor-to-ceiling window in the painter’s studio offers an uninterrupted view of the beautiful landscape.
