Permanence and reusability
Atarazanas Provisional Market, 2006
/
Since the commission to design the new market was received, there has been a constant concern for the provisionality of the commercial use and the permanence of the building, i.e., that the new building could be reused when the commercial activity returned to its former location after its rehabilitation.
A solution of phenolic panels with a removable aluminum structure was adopted to distinguish the different interior spaces (the sales stalls, corridors, rooms and toilets) and another more consistent solution for the exterior enclosures, a ramex metal grid to which methacrylate panels in different colors are added.
The prefabricated structure consists of reinforced concrete pillars and beams and a metal roof.
