A contemporary gesture to the city
Fajardo Building, 2014
The building’s enclosed overhang, transformed into a plane that appears to hover in the air, becomes an architectural gesture toward the city. As it reaches the corner, this plane gains solidity, reinforcing the structure and creating a striking visual impact.
Inspired by the metaphysical drawings of Giorgio de Chirico, the suspended plane features rectangular windows that echo the traditional architecture of the historic center.
The use of translucent white glass lends a sense of lightness to the whole. The materials employed—such as the natural stone façade, translucent glass, stainless steel, and interior wood—reflect an intentional use of noble elements to enrich this unique architectural piece, integrating it with sensitivity into the historic fabric of the city of Málaga.
