Around a ficus over a hundred years old

Edificios en Paseo de Sancha, 2019

/

This project is located on Paseo de Sancha, in Málaga. The buildings have been designed around a century-old ficus tree, whose expansive canopy dominates the most prominent part of the garden on the plot.

In the southern area of the site, one of the buildings aligns with Málaga’s seafront promenade, allowing the four residences it contains to enjoy direct sea views. In the northwestern corner of the plot stands the second building, composed of five residences.

Natural stone in dark tones has been used for the façades, aiming for a harmonious integration with the organic character of the garden. On the east façade of the building facing Paseo de Sancha, glazing has been prioritized to maximize views of the lush garden and to capture reflections of the majestic ficus.
